Sales of passenger cars reached 610 thousand in 2020 in Turkey, according to ACEA. This is 57.5 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, sales of passenger cars in Turkey reached an all time high of 757 thousand in 2016 and an all time low of 31.0 thousand in 1980. When compared to Turkey's main peers, sales of passenger cars in Bulgaria amounted to 22.4 thousand and 81.0 thousand in Greece in 2020.

Turkey has been ranked 16th within the group of 66 countries we follow in terms of sales of passenger cars, 6 places above the position seen 10 years ago.

Passenger cars refer to road motor vehicles, other than two-wheelers, intended for the carriage of passengers and designed to seat no more than nine people (including the driver).
