Sales of pesticides reached 9,776 tonnes in 2005 in Belgium, according to Eurostat. This is 6.42 % more than in the previous year.
Historically, sales of pesticides in Belgium reached an all time high of 10,939 tonnes in 1995 and an all time low of 7,207 tonnes in 1980. When compared to Belgium's main peers, sales of pesticides in France amounted to 78,265 tonnes, 29,512 tonnes in Germany and 9,309 tonnes in Netherlands in 2005.
