Based on a comparison of 29 countries in 2012, Turkey ranked the highest in share of pupils at isced level 2 learning 1 foreign language with 100% followed by Austria and Hungary. On the other end of the scale was Italy with 1.20%, Macedonia with 1.80% and Iceland with 1.90%.
