Small cars as a share of new cars sold reached 33.9 % in 2016 in Austria, according to ACEA. This is 1.84 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Austria reached an all time high of 36.7 % in 2009 and an all time low of 27.9 % in 2006. When compared to Austria's main peers, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Germany amounted to 28.5 %, 62.2 % in Italy and 28.8 % in Switzerland in 2016.
