Small cars as a share of new cars sold reached 52.2 % in 2016 in France, according to ACEA. This is 2.95 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, small cars as a share of new cars sold in France reached an all time high of 57.0 % in 2010 and an all time low of 42.7 % in 2006. When compared to France's main peers, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Belgium amounted to 36.8 %, 28.5 % in Germany, 62.2 % in Italy and 38.7 % in Spain in 2016.
