Small cars as a share of new cars sold reached 28.5 % in 2016 in Germany, according to ACEA. This is 1.84 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Germany reached an all time high of 38.4 % in 2009 and an all time low of 24.7 % in 2006. When compared to Germany's main peers, small cars as a share of new cars sold in Austria amounted to 33.9 %, 36.8 % in Belgium and 52.2 % in France in 2016.
