Historically, sugar beet production in Romania reached an all time high of 7,019 kt in 1984 and an all time low of 660 kt in 2011. When compared to Romania's main peers, sugar beet production in Hungary amounted to 813 kt, 588 kt in Moldova and 18,589 kt in Ukraine in 2014.
