Sugar cane production reached 3,275 kt in 2014 in Uganda, according to Faostat. This is 16 % less than in the previous year.
Historically, sugar cane production in Uganda reached an all time high of 3,900 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 340 kt in 1980. When compared to Uganda's main peers, sugar cane production in Kenya amounted to 5,581 kt, 115 kt in Rwanda and 1,950 kt in Dem. Republic of the Congo in 2014.
