Historically, tallow production in Italy reached an all time high of 39,545 tonnes in 1974 and an all time low of 11,384 tonnes in 2014. When compared to Italy's main peers, tallow production in Austria amounted to 20,600 tonnes, 191,000 tonnes in France, 3,073 tonnes in Slovenia and 9,500 tonnes in Switzerland in 2014.
