Historically, tallow production in New Zealand reached an all time high of 191,500 tonnes in 2004 and an all time low of 63,807 tonnes in 1961. When compared to New Zealand's main peers, tallow production in Australia amounted to 585,200 tonnes and 1,076 tonnes in Malaysia in 2014.
