Tallow production reached 2,700 tonnes in 2014 in Portugal, according to Faostat. This is the same as in the previous year.
Historically, tallow production in Portugal reached an all time high of 6,700 tonnes in 1989 and an all time low of 1,500 tonnes in 2012. When compared to Portugal's main peers, tallow production in France amounted to 191,000 tonnes, 37,000 tonnes in Ireland and 23,500 tonnes in Spain in 2014.
