Tea production reached 304,000 tonnes in 2022 in Japan, according to Faostat. This is 10.6% less than in the previous year.
Historically, tea production in Japan reached an all time high of 438,000 tonnes in 2004 and an all time low of 77,571 tonnes in 1965.
