Historically, total meat production in Hungary reached an all time high of 1,692 kt in 1984 and an all time low of 765 kt in 1961. When compared to Hungary's main peers, total meat production in Austria amounted to 904 kt, 507 kt in Czech Republic, 4,798 kt in Poland and 138 kt in Slovakia in 2016.
