Total natural resources rents as a percentage of GDP reached 4.32 % in 2018 in Vietnam, according to the National Statistical Office. This is 10.7 % more than in the previous year.

Historically, total natural resources rents as a percentage of GDP in Vietnam reached an all time high of 14.2 % in 2008 and an all time low of 1.16 % in 1987. When compared to Vietnam's main peers, total natural resources rents as a percentage of GDP in Cambodia amounted to 0.842 %, 1.58 % in China, 6.73 % in Laos and 2.01 % in Thailand in 2018.
