Historically, turkey meat production in Italy reached an all time high of 440,000 tonnes in 2002 and an all time low of 14,000 tonnes in 1961. When compared to Italy's main peers, turkey meat production in Austria amounted to 20,700 tonnes, 393,287 tonnes in France, 5,177 tonnes in Slovenia and 1,812 tonnes in Switzerland in 2016.
