Based on a comparison of 117 countries in 2023, Russia ranked the highest in uncovered non-performing loans as a share of bank equity with 88.3% followed by Algeria and Sri Lanka. On the other end of the scale was Chad with -582%, Equatorial Guinea with -115% and Ecuador with -24.2%.
