Absolute Mortgage Loan Growth in Czechia by Bank

Mortgage loans grew 6.80% yoy in the last 12 months and were up 1.13% qoq in the last quarter. At the end of September, mortgages formed 40.8% of total loans. Consumer loans increased 1.40% qoq (up 5.72% yoy) and represented 11.4% of total bank loans while corporate loans grew 4.65% qoq and were up 7.90% yoy to CZK 1,278 bil (or 31.4% of loans).

The comparison suggests Stavebni Sporitelna Ceske Sporitelny has grown the fastest in mortgages in relative terms within the last quarter (2.56% qoq), followed by Raiffeisen Stavebni Sporitelna and Moneta Stavebni Sporitelna. In absolute terms, however, CSOB appears to have captured most of the new market when compared to the previous quarter (CZK 3,379 mil or 18.2% of the market increase) followed by Stavebni Sporitelna Ceske Sporitelny (8.12%) and Raiffeisen Stavebni Sporitelna (6.62%).
