Erste Group Bank made a net profit of EUR 820 mil in 3Q2023, up 60.7% when compared to the same period of last year. This implies a return on equity of 15.5%.
Some 50.5% of the group's net profit came from CEE Region and 31.2% from the Austria. Ceska Sporitelna generated a profit of EUR 198 mil (or 18.8% of total) followed by Hungary (EUR 103 mil) and Romania's BCR (EUR 97.6 mil).
CEE subsidiaries generated 66.3% of the Group's profit in the last three years, down from 245% seen a decade ago. That's compared to 46.1% of assets, 43.6% of loans and 45.6% of risk-weighted assets allocated in the CEE region at the end of September 2023.
