Historically, expenditure of international tourism in Slovakia reached an all time high of USD 2,596 mil in 2008 and an all time low of USD 338 mil in 1995. When compared to Slovakia's main peers, expenditure of international tourism in Austria amounted to USD 11,632 mil, USD 4,963 mil in Czech Republic, USD 2,739 mil in Hungary and USD 8,617 mil in Poland in 2016.
