Since its entrance to the Czech Republic in 2003, Lidl has increased its sales more than 6-fold to over CZK 23 bil in 2011. From heavy losses exceeding CZK billion in 2003-2004, the Company has achieved a net profit of nearly 1.2 bil with ROE of 12.5% in 2011.
From having 1,041 employees in 2003, the Company employed 3,439 persons in 2012. Average staff cost increased from USD 949 in 2003 to USD 2,327 per employee and month in 2012
