Based on a comparison of 15 banks in Poland in 2016, PKO BP had the most employees, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP employed 25,900 persons in 2016, down 11.4% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank's workforce hit an all time high of 37,667 persons in 2002 and an all time low of 25,900 in 2016.

Average cost reached CZK 9,124 per month per month per employee, 15.6% more than a year ago. This figure was CZK 5,881 per month some 10 years ago.

Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao had 17,757 employees with average cost of CZK 8,902 per month per person, Santander Bank Polska operated with 14,722 people (and CZK 8,549 per month per employee) and Alior Bank had 10,245 employees in 2016 with cost CZK 10,245 per month per head.

Polish banking sector employed 41,020 people in 2016. The average staff cost per employee reached CZK 71,803 per month.
