Based on a comparison of 18 banks in Poland in 2016, PKO BP was the largest deposit taker, followed by Pekao and Santander Bank Polska.

PKO BP's customer deposits reached PLN 205,066 mil, up from PLN 194,929 mil, compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of PLN 205,066 mil in 2016 and an all time low of PLN 70,101 mil in 2002.

Comparing PKO BP with its closest peers, Pekao's deposits amounted to PLN 136,380 mil at the end of 2016, Santander Bank Polska operated with PLN 112,522 mil of customer deposits and ING Bank Slaski had clients' deposits of PLN 95,825 mil at the end of 2016.

Polish banks had customer deposits of CZK 3,767 bil in 2016, up 7.00% when compared to the last year. As a result, the top ranked company - PKO BP accounted for 5.44% of the sector’s deposits in 2016. The top 3 companies held a 12.1% share while the five largest firms some 17.0% in 2016.
