Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey, Ziraat Bank produced the highest net profit in 2017, followed by Garanti Bank and Akbank.
Ziraat Bank made a net profit of TRY 7,940 mil, up 20.7% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s net profit reached an all time high of TRY 7,940 mil in 2017 and an all time low of TRY -972 mil in 2002. The average profit in the last five years amounted to TRY 5,467 mil.
The bank generated an average return on equity of 18.3% for its shareholders in the last five years with a maximum of 18.8% and a minimum of 17.5%.
Comparing Ziraat Bank with its closest peers, Garanti Bank generated a net profit of TRY 6,388 mil with a ROE of 16.5% in 2017, Akbank netted TRY 6,020 mil (ROE of 16.5%) and Isbank announced a net profit of TRY 5,749 mil giving a ROE of 10.8%.
