Based on a comparison of 31 countries in 2022, India ranked the highest in castor oil seed production with 1,618,760 tonnes followed by Mozambique and Brazil. On the other end of the scale was South Korea with 0.130 tonnes, Iran with 27.3 tonnes and Philippines with 35.7 tonnes.

Total castor oil seed production reached 1,829,522 tonnes in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.78 % less than in the previous year and -22.8 % less than 10 years ago.
