Based on a comparison of 71 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in duck meat production with 2,801,600 tonnes followed by France and Malaysia. On the other end of the scale was Cyprus with 5.00 tonnes, Seychelles with 7.00 tonnes and Belize with 14.0 tonnes.
Total duck meat production reached 4,251,419 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 2.31 % less than in the previous year and 27.2 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total duck meat production reached an all time high of 4,349,729 tonnes in 2013 and an all time low of 335,922 tonnes in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 4.91 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 65.9 % of duck meat production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 76.3 % share while the ten largest countries some 89.5 % in 2014.
