Which Country Produces the Most Leeks?

Based on a comparison of 56 countries in 2022, Indonesia ranked the highest in leek production with 638,735 tonnes followed by Turkey and France. On the other end of the scale was Mauritius with 55.0 tonnes, Costa Rica with 75.7 tonnes and Malta with 130 tonnes.

Total leek production reached 2,109,066 tonnes in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 6.2 % less than in the previous year and -3.52 % less than 10 years ago.

Historically, total leek production reached an all time high of 2,239,817 tonnes in 2021 and an all time low of 687,049 tonnes in 1976. The average annual growth amounted to 1.76 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, Indonesia, accounted for 30.3 % of leek production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 45.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 81.5 % in 2022.
