Based on a comparison of 174 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in meat production with 84,798 kt followed by USA and Brazil. On the other end of the scale was Equatorial Guinea with 0.617 kt, Seychelles with 0.812 kt and Maldives with 0.843 kt.
Total meat production reached 301,138 kt in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 3.07 % less than in the previous year and 17.1 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total meat production reached an all time high of 310,380 kt in 2013 and an all time low of 71,362 kt in 1961. The average annual growth amounted to 2.75 % since 1961.
The top ranked country, China, accounted for 28.2 % of meat production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 50.9 % share while the ten largest countries some 66.4 % in 2014.
