Which Country Produces the Most Plums?

Based on a comparison of 86 countries in 2022, China ranked the highest in plum and sloe production with 6,752 kt followed by Romania and Serbia. On the other end of the scale was Malta with 0.060 kt, Estonia with 0.060 kt and Latvia with 0.110 kt.

Total plum and sloe production reached 12,391 kt in 2022 in the World according to Faostat. This is 1.47 % more than in the previous year and 12.5 % more than 10 years ago.

Historically, total plum and sloe production reached an all time high of 12,535 kt in 2018 and an all time low of 4,235 kt in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 1.15 % since 1961.

The top ranked country, China, accounted for 54.5 % of plum and sloe production in the world. The top 3 countries hold a 63.8 % share while the ten largest countries some 80.7 % in 2022.
