Based on a comparison of 57 countries in 2014, China ranked the highest in rabbit meat production with 762,627 tonnes followed by Italy and Dem. People's Republic of Korea. On the other end of the scale was Estonia with 6.00 tonnes, Trinidad and Tobago with 12.0 tonnes and Mauritius with 25.0 tonnes.
Total rabbit meat production reached 1,771,190 tonnes in 2014 in the World according to Faostat. This is 0.589 % less than in the previous year and 21.2 % more than 10 years ago.
Historically, total rabbit meat production reached an all time high of 1,863,949 tonnes in 2007 and an all time low of 395,076 tonnes in 1962. The average annual growth amounted to 2.86 % since 1961.
