Based on a comparison of 12 countries in 2008, Spain ranked the highest in number of private-owned railway wagons with 13,718 vehicles followed by Poland and Czechia. On the other end of the scale was Finland with 58.0 vehicles, Luxembourg with 124 vehicles and Hungary with 454 vehicles.
