Number of rapes recorded by the police reached 786 in 2012 in Kenya, according to the United Nations. This is 15.8% less than in the previous year.

Historically, number of rapes recorded by the police in Kenya reached an all time high of 1,440 in 2004 and an all time low of 735 in 2008.
