Bank net profit fell 21.8% to RON 5,773 ths in Romania in 2020, according to the National Central Bank.
Historically, bank net profit in Romania reached an all time high of RON 7,386 ths in 2019 and an all time low of RON -4,705 ths in 2014. When compared to Romania's main peers, bank net profit in Bulgaria amounted to BGN 803 ths, HUF 380,277 ths in Hungary, MDL 1,650 mil in Moldova and UAH 41,301 mil in Ukraine in 2020.
