Historically, total egg consumption in Sri Lanka reached an all time high of 98.0 kt in 2014 and an all time low of 8.60 kt in 1962. When compared to Sri Lanka's main peers, total egg consumption in India amounted to 5,789 kt, 576 kt in Malaysia, 8.00 kt in Maldives and 107 kt in Myanmar in 2021.
