Historically, foreign trade as a share of GDP in Myanmar reached an all time high of 48.0% in 2017 and an all time low of 0.167% in 2009. When compared to Myanmar's main peers, foreign trade as a share of GDP in China amounted to 37.8%, 40.8% in India, 75.8% in Laos and 123% in Thailand in 2017.
