Historically, general government final consumption expenditure as a share of GDP in Maldives reached an all time high of 22.9% in 2000 and an all time low of 14.7% in 2017. When compared to Maldives's main peers, general government final consumption expenditure as a share of GDP in India amounted to 12.1%, 9.55% in Indonesia, 12.3% in Singapore and 10.3% in Sri Lanka in 2020.
