Historically, gross school enrollment of females in tertiary education in the European Union reached an all time high of 75.7% in 2016 and an all time low of 14.3% in 1971. When compared to European Union's main peers, gross school enrollment of females in tertiary education in China amounted to 53.3%, 62.0% in Japan, 89.3% in Russia and 102% in USA in 2016.
