Based on a comparison of 22 banks in Turkey in 2017, Intesa Sanpaolo Turkey was the most cost efficient bank, followed by Citibank Turkey and Ziraat Bank.
Intesa Sanpaolo Turkey's cost to income ratio reached 10.7% in 2017, down from 11.2% when compared to the last year. Historically, the bank’s costs reached an all time high of 13.5% in 2014 and an all time low of 10.7% in 2017.
When compared to total assets, bank's cost amounted to 1.39% in 2017, down from 0.318% a year earlier.
Comparing Intesa Sanpaolo Turkey with its closest peers, Citibank Turkey operated in 2017 with a cost to income ratio of 26.8%, Ziraat Bank reached 32.5% and Akbank some 32.6%.
