Metrobank's capital adequacy ratio reached 17.5% at the end of 2019, up from 17.0% compared to the previous year. Historically, the bank’s capital ratio hit an all time high of 17.8% in 2015 and an all time low of 13.4% in 2008.

The Tier 1 ratio amounted to 16.2% at the end of 2019, up from 14.6% compared to a year earlier.
