Number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old fell 3.85% to 1,340 per year in Switzerland in 2016, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old in Switzerland reached an all time high of 3,896 per year in 1972 and an all time low of 1,340 per year in 2016. When compared to Switzerland's main peers, number of manufactured cigarettes sold per capita of 15+ years old in Austria amounted to 1,723 per year, 841 per year in France, 1,091 per year in Germany and 1,370 per year in Italy in 2016.
