Old age dependency ratio rose 9.51% to 6.61% in Zimbabwe in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, old age dependency ratio in Zimbabwe reached an all time high of 7.46% in 1979 and an all time low of 5.28% in 2004. When compared to Zimbabwe's main peers, old age dependency ratio in Botswana amounted to 7.44%, 6.47% in Mozambique, 10.2% in South Africa and 4.63% in Zambia in 2022.
