Persons per household fell 1.06% to 2.90 persons in China in 2017, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, persons per household in China reached an all time high of 4.60 persons in 1982 and an all time low of 2.90 persons in 2017. When compared to China's main peers, persons per household in India amounted to 4.79 persons, 2.25 persons in Japan, 2.65 persons in Russia and 2.58 persons in USA in 2017.
