Sberbank Czech Republic's non-performing loans reached 5.76% of total loans at the end of 2017, up from 5.74% when compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 11.3% in 2010 and an all time low of 1.81% in 2007.
Provision coverage amounted to 33.6% at the end of 2017, down from 35.1% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.377% of average loans in 2017. That's compared to 0.567% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
When compared to bank's main peers, Ceska Sporitelna operated at the end of 2017 with NPL ratio of 2.10% and provision coverage of 92.0%, CSOB with 2.37% and 65.0% respectively and Komercni Banka had 3.10% of bad loans covered with 61.7% by provisions at the end of 2017.
