Societe Generale's non-performing loans reached 3.67% of total loans at the end of 2019, down from 4.16% compared to the previous year. Historically, the NPL ratio hit an all time high of 6.89% in 2013 and an all time low of 3.58% in 2006.
Provision coverage amounted to 63.8% at the end of 2019, up from 61.7% compared to a year earlier.
The bank created loan loss provisions worth of 0.300% of average loans in 2019. That's compared to 0.447% of loans the bank put aside to its cost on average in the last five years.
