Historically, total spice consumption in India reached an all time high of 4,911 kt in 2019 and an all time low of 555 kt in 1961. When compared to India's main peers, total spice consumption in Bangladesh amounted to 615 kt, 486 kt in China, 329 kt in Pakistan and 122 kt in Sri Lanka in 2020.
