Time to prepare and pay taxes fell 3.05% to 143 hours in Spain in 2019, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, time to prepare and pay taxes in Spain reached an all time high of 298 hours in 2007 and an all time low of 143 hours in 2019. When compared to Spain's main peers, time to prepare and pay taxes in France amounted to 139 hours, 238 hours in Italy, 155 hours in Morocco and 243 hours in Portugal in 2019.

Spain has been ranked 128th within the group of 171 countries we follow in terms of time to prepare and pay taxes, 30 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
