Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Cuba reached an all time high of 54,599 tonnes in 1981 and an all time low of 8,219 tonnes in 1980. When compared to Cuba's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Dominican Republic amounted to 9,836 tonnes, 1,607 tonnes in Jamaica, 17,824 tonnes in Mexico and 216,800 tonnes in USA in 2021.
