Unmanufactured tobacco production rose 0.768% to 5,673 tonnes in Nigeria in 2022, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, unmanufactured tobacco production in Nigeria reached an all time high of 22,000 tonnes in 2000 and an all time low of 2,533 tonnes in 1983. When compared to Nigeria's main peers, unmanufactured tobacco production in Benin amounted to 3.15 tonnes, 6,385 tonnes in Cameroon, 178 tonnes in Chad and 1,111 tonnes in Niger in 2022.
