Total coal consumption fell 18.2% to 278 kt in Lithuania in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, total coal consumption in Lithuania reached an all time high of 732 kt in 1993 and an all time low of 143 kt in 2001. When compared to Lithuania's main peers, total coal consumption in Belarus amounted to 698 kt, 32.0 kt in Estonia, 89.3 kt in Latvia and 228,176 kt in Russia in 2015.
Lithuania has been ranked 92nd within the group of 126 countries we follow in terms of total coal consumption, 19 places below the position seen 10 years ago.
