Total coal consumption fell 22.1% to 113 kt in Albania in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.
Historically, total coal consumption in Albania reached an all time high of 2,792 kt in 1988 and an all time low of 43.0 kt in 1997. When compared to Albania's main peers, total coal consumption in Greece amounted to 49,106 kt, 9,189 kt in Kosovo, 6,672 kt in Macedonia and 1,896 kt in Montenegro in 2015.
