Total coal consumption fell 3.77% to 11,568 kt in Israel in 2015, according to the National Statistical Office.

Historically, total coal consumption in Israel reached an all time high of 15,624 kt in 2012 and an all time low of 1.10 kt in 1980. When compared to Israel's main peers, total coal consumption in Egypt amounted to 1,885 kt, 153 kt in Jordan, 371 kt in Lebanon and 3.41 kt in Syria in 2015.
